I’m sure you’ve all seen them before. That bright, eye-catching new hair accessory. I’m talking about hair feathers!
I’ve seen them all over the place and on girls & women of all ages. From young girls, to classmates, to store clerks and business women, this style works for everyone. Now I’m not really a fashion forward kind of girl. I know what I like and I stick with it. I’ve seen these hair feathers everywhere and though they looked really pretty but didn’t think it would work for me. It just didn’t “suit my style”. But I’m really trying to branch out from that attitude. Why shouldn’t I try something I like? Who cares if other people think it looks funny! So I went for it and I’ve got nothing but positive feedback 🙂
I started asking some of my friends who rocked this style, how it worked. Most of them said they had to purchase the feathers for anywhere between $10 – $30 for just a strand or 2. Then they had to bring the feathers into a hair salon and pay to have them put in. This sounded like more work and money then I was interested in for a hair accessory. But then something awesome happened!
Kate from Picasso Hair Feathers gave me the opportunity to try out some of their cruelty-free hair feathers. She told me to pick the colours I liked and she would send them out to me. I was so excited! I went to their website and searched through the colour selections they had. There are so many pretty colours it was hard to decide but I finally settled on the Sweetheart colours.
My feathers arrived in just a few days. They were neatly bundled and fastened so the individual pieces didn’t stray and the colours were just as vibrant as pictured on their website. The best part of these feathers is that you can apply them yourself and reuse them as often as you want!
I can’t emphasize enough how un-style savvy I am but this was easy. Picasso Hair Feathers has a great How-To video right on their website that explains and shows you how to insert your hair feathers. If you learn better by reading, they also have detailed explanations with step-by-step pictures. All you need is your feather(s), a hair clip and a pair of pliers. Then use the plastic loop attached to your feather to pull your natural hair through a ring and secure it with the pliers. It took me a few tries to get the right size of hair to fit through the ring, but once I did, it was flawless. The feathers are securely attached and look awesome!
Just to experiment with different locations in my hair, I took out the feathers and reshaped the ring and reinserted them several times over. The ring holds up remarkably well and the plastic loop is super easy to reattach. The feathers are significantly longer than my natural hair so I just trimmed them up with some scissors to blend better.
If you are looking for a way spice up your hair for spring, I highly recommend purchasing some of these cruelty-free hair feathers from Picasso Hair Feathers.
