Ok. I’ve said this once, twice, THREE MILLION TIMES before.
If a freebie offer is too good to be true – it probably is.
Back in March, around Easter time, there was a offer circulating for a Free Cadbury Treasure Box. This site / promotion offered to send you a magical box full of Cadbury goodies if you referred X number of friends to sign up. This offer was shared with us repeatedly – and we repeatedly told people the offer was suspect & was something we felt was not legitimate and we would not post.
In any case, it seems many folks still signed up and now, this scam seems to be coming back around for it’s pay out.
We’ve had HUNDREDS private messages, wall comments & emails in the last few days about this Cadbury Box. It seems those who signed up are now getting emails asking for money to ship the box as well as requests for personal information such as copies of electricity, phone & internet bills.
So, if you receive an email from Couponhills.com asking for money and/or information to ship your free Cadbury Treasure Box – I implore you PLEASE DON’T DO IT!!!!
**IMPORTANT UPDATE** A SaveaLoonian let us know that in the end, after sending repeat emails & an end fee of about $10 – she did get a box of chocolate. However, it was nothing like pictured. It was instead a collection of about 10 – 20 small pieces. So I suppose, in the end, you do get your chocolate – but at a cost. This is definitely a BUYER BEWARE kind of thing.
I wouldn’t do it.
Also, if you do choose to sign up, be sure to check your credit card statement because the site clearly states they charge a monthly membership fee of $7.95 as well as shipping for each offer they send!
