Just a bit over a week after the Public Health Agency of Canada confirmed a Cyclospora outbreak that affected approximately 100 people over the summer, Costco has announced a recall!
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Costco have issued a voluntary recall of Alpine Fresh brand Snap Peas from the marketplace due to possible Cyclospora contamination.
Check your fridge or freezer for:
Alpine Fresh Snap Peas 907g (2 lb) All Best Before dates from 15-OC-01 to 15-OC-29 inclusively UPC 8 15887 01072 7
Food contaminated with Cyclospora may not look or smell spoiled. Washing fresh produce will not always eliminate Cyclospora. People infected with Cyclospora can experience a wide range of symptoms, including watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, and nausea. Some people do not get sick at all, while others suffer from a severe upset stomach.

Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
