After working online for 5+ years, I’ve developed a thick skin.
I used to take EVERYTHING anyone said to heart. Especially the bad things. But I’ve learned, behind the safety of a keyboard, people will say and do things that they would never do face-to-face. This includes being downright mean.
In our time running SaL, I’ve taken heat from more fans/followers than I could ever count, brands and even other bloggers. Through it all, the one thing that has kept me grounded is KNOWING in my heart of hearts, that we’re doing a good thing here.
Ryan and I spend countless hours every day and week bringing you the hottest new coupons, contests, freebies & deals all in an effort to help Canadians save money! We’re working to help make your life a little better – whether that be through receiving a free product in the mail, winning a contest or getting a coupon for a product your family uses all the time. And we know that not every offer is going to run smoothly or always be available but we do our absolute best to respond to questions, give assistance when we’re able and help guide our members to where they need to go.
So when I get up in the morning, sit down at my computer with my cup of tea and open up an email like this, my heart drops a little.
This person has NEVER contacted us for help. And when I replied pleading my cause, was told that I was “full of it” and that we’ve “been added to the beware sites as a fake”.
It probably shouldn’t, but it REALLY hurts my feelings when someone refers to my life’s work as fraud. It hurts when someone you don’t even know accuses you of something completely untrue and without merit. And when all we’ve ever tried to do is HELP people and then get reported as the complete opposite!
So, if you’re having issues with an offer – REACH OUT TO US!! We are here to help! But please don’t call me a fraud…
