So as many of you know, Saturday we went out for the day to celebrate a family birthday. Well it wasn’t an easy task getting there but I did get some great deals along the way!
It all started when we went to leave. The family members house that we were going to lives almost an hour away so we got ready to head out in the early afternoon. We got the car all packed, fishing gear (the boys were planning on doing a little), the gifts, extra clothes for night time and of course the dog. We got in the car and I started to pack out and before I made it even a few inches I knew something was wrong. So Ryan jumped out of the car (thinking I’d run over the tackle box or something LOL) but there was nothing there and as he walked to the front of the car BAM! There it was. My driver side front tire was so flat it was coming off the rim BOOOOOOO!
So I called CAA (my parents get it for me as a gift every Christmas – best gift EVER), and had to wait about 20 mins for the truck to show up. The CAA attendent was very nice and he first tried filling the flat, hoping it was a slow leak and it would be fine. NOPE! As soon as the tire was full of air it started shooting out the inner side wall of the tire. So that was the end of that tire. He then jacked up the car and put my FLAT spare on and filled it up too Now he told us, we couldn’t take the car on a long drive, the donut just wouldn’t hold out. By this point we were extremely frustrated that we were missing the party.
Once CAA left, we jumped online to try and find if Canadian Tire had a tire that would fit and if they could squeeze us in for an appointment (by this time is was 3:30). Well, they had the tire instock according to their website. So Ryan phoned the service department to see if we could get in. They left him on hold for 10 mins and then he got the brillant idea to try Walmart automotive. I had never been there before so we looked it up quick and the website said it was open till 8. So Ryan hung up the phone and called Walmart. They said they closed at 5 but if we got there quick they would squeeze us in. I grabbed my binder knowing we would have to kill some time in Walmart while the car was being done. So we rushed out and jumped in the car and made out way to Walmart.
They guys there were super friendly and said they would have it done ASAP but it would still take about 30-45 mins. We said fine we’ll just shop around. And boy am I glad I brough my binder! We got some really great deals

Of course thats not including the car repairs, but unfortunatly they don’t make tire coupons Oh well, we headed right from Walmart to the party deciding to leave the dog at home. We got there and had a great time, no getting home until the wee hours of the morning but all in all it was a pretty great day
