OhmConnect is a free app that is synced up to your local utility company. When the power grid gets stretched to it’s max during times of peak energy usage, you’ll receive an earning alert, called an “#OhmHour” from OhmConnect.
At this point, all you have to do is turn off the TV, shut down your computer, flip off some lights and/or get outside! Because if you successfully reduce your energy usage during this time, you’ll get paid cash!
Since OhmConnect users are reducing energy demand during peak hours, Hydro One can avoid having to “turn on” expensive & dirty power plants to meet the need and OhmConnect gets paid instead. Then they pass that earnings on to you – the one who helped make the difference!
