If you have a PC Financial banking account – you are going to want to pay attention to this!
President’s Choice is getting out of the day-to-day banking game after an almost 20 year “behind the scenes” collaboration with CIBC.
PC Financial plans to hold onto the MasterCard-branded credit card program but will hand over the current two million PC Financial daily banking customers to CIBC. The new “bank” will be rebranded as Simplii.
Customers have been assured that the transition will be done seamless with no changes or alterations to existing account numbers, pre-authorized payments and savings plans. The change over will begin almost immediately and conclude in November.
*NOTE: After doing more reading on the subject, it would appear the back end movement of customer accounts from PC to CIBC/Simplii will happen from now to November. Starting November 1st, these changes will start actually affecting customers with new debit cards being sent out, changing of ATM’s, branches closing, etc.
A spokesperson for Loblaws says this change will help PC focus on the popular PC Plus loyalty program as well as help improve customer experience.
