It’s time to check your freezers again – this time for Maple Leaf Foods Breaded Chicken Products.
Maple Leaf is recalling various breaded chicken products from the market due to a possible contamination with the Staphylococcus bacteria! Food contaminated with Staphylococcus toxin may not look or smell spoiled. The toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria is not easily destroyed at normal cooking temperatures. Common symptoms of Staphylococcus poisoning are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping and fever. In severe cases of illness, headache, muscle cramping and changes in blood pressure and pulse rate may occur.

These products were distributed in Ontario & Quebec.
Consumers should not eat the recalled products. Instead, throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall.
