Dusting is one of those chores I absolutely hate doing! It’s time consuming, tedious and you ALWAYS have to do it again! Don’t you agree! Not to mention the fact that every method of dusting I’ve tried seems flawed. Feather dusters, well those so don’t work. Old rags, they more or less push the dust around instead of picking it up. Swiffer Dusters, they do work but the refills are expensive, even with a coupon. So while I was folding laundry and tidying the house up a week or so ago, I had a brain wave!
I don’t know if you may do this already but I have found the PERFECT use for old, mis-matched, holey socks! Dusters! Believe it or not, it works amazingly!
I simply went through all of our socks, took out any ones that didn’t have a match, were old or had some small holes in them. I turn them inside out (so the fuzzy side is out) and put my hand in the sock. And go! It’s as easy as that. They pick up all of the dust, dog hair and small specks of debris. And the best part is, you just throw them in the wash when you’re done and your dust socks are good to go again.
As another tip, when you wash and dry your dust socks, don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets. The added static build up helps the socks pick up even more dust.
