Well. That didn’t last long.
It was just a little over 2 years ago that we were all a-buzz with the news that Target was coming north of the border. We expected great deals, low prices, merchandise selection like we saw no where else.
But it seems none of that happened – for us or for Target.
It has been announced & confirmed this morning that Target is discontinuing operations in Canada & will be selling off all 133 stores across the country.
Each day Target is operating in Canada they are losing money. Even after trying to overcome the first year operational challenges, they have decided to completely pull the plug.
There doesn’t seem to be any direct information at this time regarding when store closures will begin.
While this really doesn’t make any difference to me personally (I have yet to even step foot inside a Target Canada store), I’m sure many of you will be disappointed.
